The vineyard and winery are situated about 45 minutes north of Auckland just off the main highway north. The nearest town, 3 kilometers to the north, is Warkworth. This is an attractive small country town which services a rural area of livestock farming, orchards, market gardens and vineyards. The area is popular for its beautiful coastline and stunning beaches.
Ransom Wines is the first of the vineyards in the Matakana wine region which visitors from Auckland arrive at. Matakana is one of New Zealand's most northerly wine growing regions, and it consists solely of boutique owner-operated winegrowers focused on crafting premium quality wines.
