Ransom Vin Gris 2009
Made entirely from red grapes using the traditional saignée
method, the juice had only a few hours with the skins to
produce a
delicate salmon pink rosé. Strawberries and cream bouquet
with a hint of rose petals, leads to a firm, fresh palate, combining savoury and sweet fruit flavours. A good aperitif wine or
for a
long lunch. Serve chilled.

Ransom Reserve Carmenère 2006
The only one of its kind in New Zealand, this ancient Bordeaux variety has produced a wine that is deep crimson in colour and has a fragrant aroma of violets. The 2006 Reserve spent two years in barrel, producing a mellow, full, rounded wine which retains the strength of character of the earlier release - spicy with a savoury backbone, a velvety texture and good length. A wine to savour.

It has a peach and honeysuckle nose, leading into a nicely structured palate with the sweetness balanced by refreshing crispness and a lingering, honeyed finish. Serve well chilled, either as a delicious, appetising aperitif or with a cheeseboard.
